Calligraphy in English

I am Marie-Pierre Trillon, calligrapher and founder of Scriptorium Poétique. I discovered illumination thanks to the Book of Kells in Dublin. I began to learn Latin calligraphy few years later as I was looking for a way to keep an artistic learning with less material constraints than oil painting. After several years of courses to learn calligraphy and a break, I started again calligraphy, this activity so dear to my heart. I decided recently to calligraphy in English

Technically everything is made with walnut husk, gouache and ink. Walnut husk is a sustainable vegan ink on paper. Dimensions are all related to the golden ratio. They are numbered from 1 to 100.

They are about quotes or poems about the living or spirituality that I find in my reading or in the reading of my loved ones. They are about the living and spirituality because that ‘s what drives me.

Scriptorium Poetique’s bookmarks display only one word. I wanted them to be useful in paperbacks, pocket books, but also for small books, practical books, or more square-shaped books that are a little atypical.

Each piece is unique, with slight differences between them as I make them one by one.
